Europa Galante and Fabio Biondi present chamber concerts and symphonies from the prodigious musical production of the Scarlatti family, father and son: Alessandro’s six Grossi concertos, which, prior to those of Handel (op. 6), are distinguished by a characteristic theatrical sense of surprise and contrast; Alexander’s famous son Domenico is represented by 3 short symphonies, probably written as introductions to his cantatas.
